Hello everyone! Sorry, but there will be no blog this week or next week, due to my being incredibly busy with the publication and launch of Monday is Washing Day Book One – Grace: Duty and Responsibility.

As you probably are aware, the publication date for the above is 4th April, next Monday, so Team Hughes has been up to our necks in hardback and paperback copies, jiffy bags, promotional items and all sorts of stuff to get them packed up and ready for dispatch.

I’m happy to say they have now been sent out, and should arrive with my readers on or very soon after the publication date. If you don’t receive yours by next Tuesday, 5th April, please let me know ASAP so I can track it for you.

The rest of this week is devoted to getting everything sorted for my trip up to Barrow in Furness next week. We’re going to be there for the whole week, preparing for my Book Launch at the Dock Museum at 1:30pm on Saturday 9th April. Everyone is welcome – so please do come along and bring your friends! There will be a short talk on how the books came into being, a couple of readings then ending with a short Q&A session. In the midst of all this there will refreshments in the form of tea, coffee and cakes, and the books will be available for sale too. Of course, I will be very happy to sign them with a personal dedication should you want me to.

In addition to all that, we’ll be visiting all our friends and family in Barrow that we haven’t see for a long, long time, so both Mel and I are looking forward to that!

So, normal service will be resumed in the shape of my next blog on 14th April, along with my weekly newsletter on Friday 15th. In the meantime, of course, I would be very happy to hear from you if you’d like to post a message, upon any subject you like, or follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn, as per the links at the bottom of each page.

Wish me luck!! Until next time,

LH

Hello! I'm Liz, a writer from Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire. I've lived here for nearly 20 years, although I'm originally from t'other side o't hill as they say around here. I'm from Barrow in Furness, which was in Lancashire when I was born - still, whether it's Lancashire or Cumbria, it still makes me a Northern Lass. That means I'm honest, straightforward and feisty. My current book is (very) loosely based on my family history, though the names have been changed to protect the innocent (and the guilty!) I'm hoping to publish in April 2022, or possibly earlier.
