  1. I have just finished reading the first book in the trilogy “Monday Is Washing Day.”
The historical detail in both the time and the town of Barrow in Furness is outstanding. Before I knew it I had been drawn into the family and the various members of it, how they met their spouses and the lives they lived. I laughed and cried with them as they loved and lost, but what was most striking is the fact that I cared about each and every one of them.
A wonderful read and I look forward to the next instalment in Book Two

  2. Just finished book one of Monday is Washing Day.
Thank you, it is delightfully written, I have been drawn into the family, to celebrate both their successes and sadness. There is warmth and humour in the writing, and factual references that add to the reality of the story. I enjoy a book that is absorbing, I find hard to put down and don’t want to end …
Now I’ve been introduced to ‘Berties Dynasty’ I’m secretly hoping there are more than two books to follow.
A very enjoyable and worthwhile read to be recommended.
    My congratulations to the author.
